When Do You Need To Replace Your Boiler?
When do you need to replace your boiler? How long is a piece of string!!
Remember age is just a number! It is very misleading that when your boiler gets to a certain age that you need to replace it for a new one, This is not the case. Why fix something if it isn’t broke?
With your Boiler Cover Plan you will receive an annual service, often a couple of tweaks and your boiler can live to a very good age.
With Winter bearing down on us, keeping our home warm is very important, but we often take advantage of how our boilers work without having them serviced until a noise or an issue appears.
We offer 4 different plans which are as follows:

How old should the boiler be before you replace it?
We recommend you buy a replacement boiler every 10 to 15 years if your Gas Safe registered engineer recommends so on the annual service, or when your boiler becomes less efficient.
Boilers become less effective when they get older, especially if they haven’t been maintained/serviced annually.
Replacing your old gas boiler with a new A rated boiler which is energy efficient can save you up to £340 every year.
What is the average life expectancy of a boiler?
The life expectancy will depend on the type of boiler you have.
On average, you can expect your boiler to last between 10 to 15 years as stated before, but this is if you keep it well maintained and have it serviced annually. However, if this is not the case then you might have to be finding a replacement boiler after 8 or 10 years.
One issue that might cut the life expectancy of the boiler short is corrosion.
If your boiler is suffering from this then it will become less efficient and break down more often which might mean you need to spend money on a replacement boiler sooner rather than later.
How much does a replacement boiler cost?
The total cost your boiler replacement will depend on things such as the brand of the boiler, the size needed, the cost of installation and any possible extras you may choose. On average, expect to be paying anything between £1,500 up to £4,000 for a replacement combi boiler.
