Best boiler brands
You need a new boiler. So, you’ve Googled ‘new boiler’ and, then two hours later, you’re more confused and no closer to a decision than you were when you started. To be honest, we’re not surprised.
How do you decide which is the best boiler brand, let alone which of the hundreds of boilers on offer is the right one for you?
Help is at hand! We’ve researched ten of the top UK boiler brands. We’ve dug into their backgrounds, checked out their range of heating solutions and found out the details for the all-important warranty.
If you can’t wait to find out which boiler manufacturer rose to the top of our best boiler brand list we’ll let you in on the secret, it’s the Worcester Bosch boiler company. But, the thing about boilers is that what’s right for my requirements and my home may not be right for you.
So while we believe that Worcester Bosch offers the best overall package, there are some strong reasons why the alternatives may be a better fit for your home. Read on to find out why!
What is the best boiler type for you?
So before you get too engrossed in deciding which is the right boiler brand for your home, you also need to consider boiler types and central heating options.
The combination boiler is the top choice of homeowners in the UK when they’re looking for a new boiler, and that’s for several reasons. First of all, it’s a great option for a home with a shortage of space.
That’s because everything needed is one unit, and the combi boiler simply heats the water on demand.
Now, that can cause some challenges if you have more than one bathroom or need to have hot water delivered to two outlets at the same time. That’s because the combi may struggle to deliver that volume of hot water all at the same time.
However, help is at hand because several boiler manufacturers have come up with a solution for that issue in the form of a storage combi boiler!
If you already have a combi, then it’s highly likely that’s the replacement type that you’re going to be looking
For larger homes or where there’s high demand for hot water, then a system boiler might be a good choice.
System boilers store the hot water in a hot water cylinder, so that means that they have a large volume of hot water ready to go on-demand. Our system boiler prices guide can help you calculate how much a system boiler will cost you.
System boilers pull their water supply directly from the mains, so there’s no need for a cold water tank. If you currently have a system boiler, the most straightforward option for a new boiler is to go for exactly the same type.
However, if your heating and hot water requirements have changed, there’s no reason why you can’t go for a combi, it will just be a slightly longer installation process.
Sometimes known as a conventional boiler, the regular boiler is the oldest type of boiler to be found in UK homes.
Both regular and system boilers store hot water ready for use, but the regular boiler also needs a cold water tank that’s usually located up in the loft.
If you do have a regular boiler right now, swapping it for the same is the easiest solution. However, you may found long term efficiency gains and reduced bills by switching over to a combi or regular boiler.
The top ten best boiler brands
So here we go, in no particular order, is our list of the best boiler brands for UK households.

Worcester Bosch warranty
If you’re wondering about the quality of Worcester Bosch boilers, well, you only need to turn to their warranties to see the confidence they have in their range of domestic boilers.
In our Worcester Bosch 8000 review, we discuss the impressive 10-year warranty that comes as standard. It’s good to know that it’s not only selected combi boilers that come with that warranty period, there are also system and regular boilers entitled to the same period of cover.
If the longevity of your boiler is important to you then do take a look at the Worcester Bosch system filter. Designed to protect your boiler from debris and pollutants that can find their way into the system, this is a cost-effective way of protecting your investment

If we were to pick just one Worcester Bosch boiler to present to you, then it has to be the new Worcester Bosch 4000 boiler.
This is the most popular boiler in the Worcester Boilers range, and it’s designed for average-sized homes with one bathroom.
Despite the Greenstar 4000 being small enough to fit between kitchen cupboards, it can deliver enough hot water to fill a kitchen sink within 45 seconds.
Just as a side note, if you’re not able to get gas at your property, Worcester oil boilers have a very positive reputation with both homeowners and heating engineers.
#2. Viessmann – 2nd Best boiler manufacturer brand
Viessmann boilers is a well-known international manufacturer of heating solutions and are considered to be one of the top boiler brands. Although a family business, they have a staff of over 12,000 and a presence in more than 120 countries across the world.

The warranty offered from Viessmann boilers depends not only on the model but also on who installs it for you. If, for example, the installer has attended training at the Viessmann academy, then the warranty length may go up.
That then means that there could be a 12 year period of cover on offer for some Viessmann boilers, and that includes the Vitodens 100w.
The top Viessmann combi boiler
Well, we’re struggling here as to whether to tell you all about the Viessmann Vitodens 050-W or the Viessmann Vitodens 100-W. So, and as we think they are two of the best combi boilers, we’re going to cheat and tell you a bit about both!

Suitable for homes of up to three bedrooms, the 050 is fitted with a stainless steel heat exchanger to improve energy efficiency and longevity.
As a result, this is an incredible energy efficient boiler that achieves a rating of 97%.

The modulation ratio of 1:9 further increases the efficiency of the Xclusive, and there’s the option for what’s called Priority Hot Water. This briefly switches the boiler to focus on providing hot water rather than heating.
As a result, hot water is supplied much quicker than you would usually expect without any real noticeable impact on the heating temperature.
